Pre-optimized search strategies run in parallel against Google Shopping to find real, purchasable products matched to the archetype.
Products Are Scored
OpenAI evaluates every product for gift relevance on a 1–10 scale, filtering out mismatches and ranking the best options.

Products are organized into 2–4 meaningful categories with direct purchase links, pricing, retailer ratings, and delivery info.

Intelligent Discovery Pipeline
A 3-phase engine: archetype profiling, parallel SERP searches using pre-optimized strategies, and AI-powered scoring and categorization. Products are batched 30–40 per AI call for cost efficiency.

Real-Time Product Search
Searches Google Shopping via SERP API with an intelligent caching layer (7-day TTL, MD5 hash keys) that dramatically improves response times and reduces API costs.
AI Match Scoring
Every product receives an AI Match Score (e.g., "8.5/10") with reasoning text. OpenAI GPT evaluates gift relevance against the archetype profile, filtering poor matches automatically.
Smart Categorization
Results are organized into 2–4 meaningful categories (e.g., "Kitchen Tools & Gadgets," "Gourmet Food & Ingredients") with item counts, ordered by relevance.
Post-Results Refinement
After results load, adjust the budget slider ($0–$1,000+), add specific interests, refresh results, or use "Find More Like These" to expand a specific category.
Direct Purchase Links
Every product includes a direct link to the retailer's page, current pricing (with sale indicators), retailer name, ratings/reviews, and delivery info when available.
Product Feedback
Thumbs up/down buttons on every product allow users to signal relevance, helping improve future recommendations. Interaction data is tracked per session.
Security & Privacy
CSRF protection, Content Security Policy with per-request nonces, rate limiting (Redis-backed), prompt injection detection, input sanitization, and a server-side image proxy to prevent tracking.
